BILLINGS — A very windy Monday ahead

Unsettled weather associated with an upper level trough of low pressure will pass through eastern Montana and northern Wyoming tonight through Monday.

Winter Weather Advisories are posted for portions of western, north central and northeast Montana from Saturday evening out west through Tuesday morning out east.

Portions of southeast Montana, the Red Lodge and Beartooth foothills and north central Wyoming could see 1 to 4 inches accumulation Monday through early Tuesday morning.

Area mountains will likely see 6 to 11 inches of snow from tonight through early Tuesday.

Slick roads, reduced visibility and occasional blowing snow are likely in the affected areas Monday.

The plains will see cooler daytime temperatures along with a mix of rain, snow and occasionally gusty winds late Sunday through early Tuesday morning.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, a 30% chance of snow showers, west winds 15 to 25 mph and a low of 30.

Monday: Sunny in the morning becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers, northwest winds 20 to 35 mph gusting to 50 mph and a high of 40.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy, windy and colder, a 50% chance of snow showers and a low of 21.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and warmer with a high of 36.
