BILLINGS — Winter weather is approaching.
A pair of low pressure systems in the region will generate another round of wintry weather as we head toward the Thanksgiving weekend.
Expect gusty winds and snow mainly in western Montana Thanksgiving Day. By Thursday night, the snow will move into eastern Montana.
Winter Storm Warnings have been posted for much of south-central and southeast Montana and north central Wyoming – including the Billings area - from Friday morning through Saturday night.
Forecast models are showing snowfall accumulations during the warning period of between 8 and 11 inches with more in the mountains.
A warm front preceding the snow will likely generate some freezing drizzle in portions of eastern Montana.
Along with snow and slippery roadways, expect up to 50 mph wind gusts at times Friday and Saturday.
