High temperatures will be mainly into the 30s Friday, but range from the 20s in northeast Montana to some low 40s. Expect plenty of afternoon sun.
Winds will be brisk around Harlowton/Big Timber/Livingston with wind gusts up to around 45 mph. Otherwise, most of the area will have a light southwesterly breeze.
Clouds will increase Friday night with lows staying mainly into the teens and 20s but colder in northeastern Montana.
Mostly cloudy Saturday with a few isolated snow showers favoring areas south and east of Billings. Highs will be slightly cooler than Friday with readings mainly in the 20s to mid 30s.
The pattern stays mainly unchanged through early next week. A bump in the temperatures is expected New Year’s eve/New Year’s Day with highs mainly in the 40s, but that comes with an increasing chance of rain or snow showers.

Friday… Sunny with a high near 39. Southwest breeze 5 to 15 mph.
Friday night… Increasing clouds with a low near 24. West breeze 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday… Isolated snow showers in the morning. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a high of about 35.
