BILLINGS — Full Forecast:

Headlines/Current Conditions (As of 3:30pm Sunday)

Partly cloudy skies and temperatures sitting between the mid to upper 30’s and low 40’s across much our area. Winds in Billings are around 20 mph with gusts above 35 mph.

High Wind Watches and Warning in effect from now till late Monday night and early Tuesday morning for much of our region both in Montana and parts of Northern Wyoming, specifically around Cody. Could see gusts anywhere from 60 to 80 mph in some spots. Livingston, Big Timber, Harlowton and the Beartooth Foothills will be especially impacted.

Because of the wind, Severe Driving conditions along stretches of HW-191 and I-90 exist. Blowing and drifting snow is a big issue at the moment, along with dangerous crosswinds. Exercise extreme caution if you have to travel. Please use caution, especially if you are driving a high-profile vehicle or towing a trailer.

In Northwestern Montana:

Winter Storm Warning for areas around West Glacier from now till 11am Monday. 3 to 7” of snow possible and strong winds gusting up to 50 mph.

Blizzard Warning from now till 11am Tuesday along the Northern Rocky Mountain Front, above 5,000 feet. Could see 20 inches of snow in the highest elevations and winds gusting up to 80mph.

Use extreme caution if you are in these areas.

Tonight:

Partly Cloudy and windy with temps in the low 30’s for most of us.

Again, Wind Watches and Warning will still be in effect for a large portion of MT and WY.

Tomorrow (Monday):

Monday will be warmer and still windy, with temps pushing 50 degrees here in Billings.

Many Wind Watches and Warning will still be in effect across much of MT and WY till either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Tuesday - Sunday:

Tuesday, winds will start to die down as a cold front move in. Temps into the mid to upper 30’s for most of us. This cold front may also bring with it a chance of snow. The mountains and higher elevations could see some accumulations, but most of the low laying areas will see a dusting if anything.

Most of the rest of the week will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 30’s.

Have a great week everyone! - Chris
