BILLINGS- A male scooter rider taken by ambulance to a local emergency room Friday afternoon after crashing his bike on the 1300 block of Broadwater Avenue.

A Billings police officer said the rider flew over the handlebars of the scooter after apparently braking too hard in the westbound lane. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The call came at 3:43 p.m.

The westbound traffic on Broadwater was briefly detoured.
